WATER AND SANITATION

Ice's most profoundly program is provision of sanitation systems, clean and safe water for the most vulnerable and maginalised populations of the world. Water is life and as an International charity, we have been licensed to address the global need for safe drinking water and sanitation. Together with our partners a coalition of philanthropists, specialists, technical, social and religious volunteers, has been established to tackle global challenges that hinder communities' abilities to survive and thrive. In our bid to serve the water and sanitation needs of the people in developing countries and disaster areas, we construct boreholes on behalf of companies and NGOs. We have three types of such boreholes. The GI, the mechanically drilled, the stainless and solar powered boreholes. We have been previously contracted by three companies to build reliable safe water systems the latest being Erikam from Turkey for which we are constructing both the GI and stainless boreholes.

Civil Work Engineering.

Ice International is also into civil works particularly the construction of schools, social amenities, private homes and prayer infrastructure like Mosques. Visit our gallery for such constructions. In areas where such Mosques are constructed, we intend to also construct healthy centers for women and children. Our primary focus is women in labor and Children of eighteen years old.

Closely related Child welfare is the rehabilitation of jobless youth through provision of training in areas like technical education so that they can be empowered to better their lives by themselves. Most youths are wasted into substance misuse and abuse and as ICE, we have currently opted to offer to some, computer knowledge in web designing and application formulation and with funding, we are willing to expand their number to 100 and above. We have established a network of hopeless people and the week especially the old who lack the basic provisions like accommodation, feeding and clothing and with funding, we plan to construct homes for the weak and also provide them with the best necessities they lack in their areas of habitation. Ice international is also running a program for youth who are willing to marry but are incapacitated by financial factors due to unemployment. We are in touch with countries like the sultanate of Oman where such programs exist and our intention is to ensure that this arrangement is reached and made possible.

EDUCATION

Education provides young people with the opportunity to prepare for life. ICEug seeks to help young people and their families get the best out of the prevalent global education systems. We normally work in partnership with the young people, their families, the schools, other education services as well as statutory and voluntary agencies.
ICE's primary work in partnership with Parents/Carers and other support agencies, is to ensure young people attend school and attain their required expectations. Research-based assessments of situations are usually established and support plans accordingly formulated in conjunction with students, parents and schools accordingly. We prepare and implement specialist support projects in areas like counseling, career guidance,in alliance with special Parent or Pupil Support Groups including Social Services and other agencies.
ICEug's Education Welfare Service works under the principles of the Children (NI) Order 1995, Human Rights Act 1998 and has a commitment to the United Nations Convention of the Right of the Child. These Principles include the chapter that emphasizes the significance of the child welfare, the child's right to be heard and their right to free and compulsory education.
Additionally, Educational infrastructural support and material supply in all aspects of life, is considered at ICE.

AGRICULTURE AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

At Ice International Uganda, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the issue of Agricultural productivity. Agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy of developing countries, and provides the main source of food, income and employment to their rural populations.
According to FAO (2000), it has been established that the share of the agricultural population in the total populace is 67% that agriculture accounts for 39.4% of the GDP and that 43% of all exports consist of agricultural goods.
It's part of our obligations, therefore, as ICEug, to uplift this agricultural progress and contribute to the prevalent progressive efforts towards further advancement. We are, however, faced with key challenges that include but not limited to high cost of investment/finance, inadequatephysical infrastructure to support the sector, poor farming techniques, limited access to quality farm inputs, too much relying on rain, lack of marketing data and Information, inadequate production and post harvest technologies, inadequate disease control facilities, lack of awareness by farmers on better farming methods, low incomes of farmers to purchase the necessary farm inputs, limitedfunding by government and private sector to agricultural sector, low production and productivity resulting in low revenue, low value addition to agricultural produce, limited market access due to inadequate marketing and agro processing facilities, weak implementation of agricultural laws and policies, limited public agricultural institutions, inadequate storage and high post harvest losses, land limitation in some areas, and imperative to note, most countries have not yet been zoned on the basis of different agricultural crops.
At ICEug, together with our partners, we have mobilized ourselves into a force of specialists in gricultural production to make our contribution to the different aforementioned factors affecting the Agricultural sector

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are basic rights that belong to all of us simply because we are human. They embody key values in our society such as fairness, dignity, equality and respect. They are an important means of protection for us all, especially those who may face abuse, neglect and isolation.
The UDHR and other documents lay out five kinds of human rights: economic, social, cultural, civil, and political. Economic, social, and cultural rights include the right to work, the right to food and water, the right to housing, and the right to education.
There are some rights we refer to as absolute human rights and they include the right to freedom from torture, the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion and the right to freedom from slavery.
The freedom to vote was ranked as the most important human right in five of the eight countries. The United States values free speech as the most important human right, with the right to vote coming in third.
Human rights are important in the relationships that exist between individuals and the government that has power over them. The government exercises power over its people. However, human rights mean that this power is limited. States have to look after the basic needs of the people and protect some of their freedoms.
Cognizant of the significance of human rights to society, ICEug has inscribed upon it's self the responsibility to protect, defend and disseminate human rights to the populace. In our programs section, a detailed bit of our initiatives is prescribed.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION.

Environment plays an important role in healthy living and the existence of life on planet earth. Earth is a home for different living species and we all are dependent on the environment for food, air, water, fuel, medicines, building materials and other needs. Therefore, it is important for every individual to save and protect our environment.
Advances in science and technology have helped us to exploit the environment for our benefit, but we have also subsquently introduced pollution and caused significant environmental damage. The natural environment has been compromised, reducing biological diversity and the general health of the environment.
Although the degradation process has been entirely natural in origin, it has also been, to some extent, accelerated or caused by human activities. Depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; habitat destruction; the extinction of wildlife; and pollution, are all caused by humans.
At ICEug, therefore, we are committed to preventing further environmental degradation variously. We have designed programs of reducing overall misconsumption of resources, appropriating the limited natural resources, reusing reusable resources and materials, recycling recyclable materials and encouraging green transportation. In essence, we committed ourselves to giving back to the environment that has given us it's all.The UDHR and other documents lay out five kinds of human rights: economic, social, cultural, civil, and political. Economic, social, and cultural rights include the right to work, the right to food and water, the right to housing, and the right to education.
